A late fee is applied to your ledger if at least part of your balance was unpaid as of the due date grace period. Your rent due date and late fee grace period are found on your lease, which is posted in your Online Portal.
Reasons for unpaid balances include:
Failure to pay on time
If paid by check, the check may be lost in transit (we recommend you pay via your Online Portal)
You chose the non-adjusting autopay setup, and you did not update this configuration when rent changed at lease renewal (we suggest you change your autopay setup to automatically change each year)
