Flexible Rent: A New Way to Manage Rent Payments

At Blue Horizon Management Company, we're always looking for innovative ways to enhance the experience of our residents.

That’s why we’re excited to announce that on June 24, 2024 we're launching Flexible Rent, a new payment option designed to make paying rent easier and more convenient.

What is Flexible Rent?

Flexible Rent allows our rental tenants the option to spread their monthly rent payment into smaller, more manageable installments that fit their schedule and budget. This new feature ensures that while you pay rent in a way that works best for you, both Blue Horizon and the homeowner still receives your full rent amount on time.

How to Apply for Flexible Rent

Applying for Flexible Rent is simple and straightforward:

  1. Log into your Online Portal.

  2. Select “Learn More” about Flexible Rent.

  3. Follow the prompts to apply.

  1. Is Flexible Rent also available for HOA Dues for HOA Homeowners?

    1. No, Flexible Rent is only available for our rental property tenants at this time.

  2. Is my credit checked with this service?

    1. A soft credit check will be run when obtaining a quote, which generally does not impact a credit score.

    2. A hard credit check will be run when accepting the offer, which may impact credit score.

  3. How much does this cost?

    1. The fee for tenants typically ranges from $10-30 per month, depending on your rent amount and credit score. There may also be a one-time enrollment fee.

  4. What is the maximum amount I can borrow?

    1. You can borrow up to approximately $3,500, based on your ledger and rent amount.

  5. What charges are included in the installments?

    1. All recurring charges are included. This excludes your Security Deposit and any one-time charges.

  6. When does the Blue Horizon Management receive my rent?

    1. Even though this program allows you to pay rent in installments throughout each month, Blue Horizon Management will receive your full rent amount on the 1st of the month so you don't incur any late fees. The nominal cost charged for this program covers banking fees involved with fronting the money owed to the property manager on the 1st of the month, while allowing you to pay rent in installments.

  7. What happens if I do not get approved?

    1. You will receive a soft decline message. Then, in compliance with the FCRA and ECOA, you will receive an adverse action notice sent via email.

  8. How do I cancel the Flexible Rent service?

    1. You can easily cancel the same way you signed up: via your Online Portal.
